Hardware

AccessCore One. Four doors, one board, no server.

A networked door controller that makes access decisions at the door, connects straight to the cloud over Ethernet and is documented down to the terminal.

AccessCore One controller board, annotated: four lock relays along the top edge (dry contact COM, NO, NC); power input at the top right (12 or 24 VDC); per-door reader ports (Wiegand or OSDP) and REX and door-sensor inputs down the left edge; Ethernet network port at the lower right; fire alarm input at the bottom edge.

Architecture

Decisions at the door, not in the cloud.

  • Internet outage: doors keep granting and denying access locally. Connectivity is only needed to make configuration changes.
  • Updates and reboots: door I/O runs on a dedicated control processor, so doors stay in service while the node restarts.
  • Node offline: the control MCU keeps the door working from a master card list until the node returns.

Compliance

UL 294 compliant, with the installation conditions spelled out.

UL 294 is the safety standard for access control system units. A compliant install follows four conditions, and our documentation covers each one.

  1. Condition 1

    Locked enclosure

The controller is mounted in a locked enclosure inside the protected premises.

  2. Condition 2

    Listed backup power

Powered from a UL 294-listed access control supply with battery backup.

  3. Condition 3

    Fused lock outputs

Locks are driven through a UL-listed fused relay/output board.

  4. Condition 4

    Independent egress

Push-to-exit and fire-alarm release cut lock power in hardware, independent of the controller.
